In this, my first experience designing lights, I turned to taking photo and video to check that my lights would actually show the dancers in space, not just my pretty color choices

I'd pester Tim Mann going "Hey we haven't done anything about that lamp post yet" and he'd go "Oh yeah. How about you draw that up."
One day I showed up and he had an index card that said "The Golden Toad" on it and he said something to the effect of "Do something with that". I loved it.
